Before your visit to BioMed Center Sonnenberg, you should note:
- Have you sent all the necessary documents in advance?
- Bring a valid ID card or passport.
- If you have a lab appointment first thing in the morning, please do not use the restroom beforehand.
- Please check the credit card limit and clarify this with your payment institution if necessary.
The question “what can I already do myself until my first appointment”? occurs more and more.
Detailed advice cannot be given before an initial appointment because you are not yet known to our doctors. Usually, our patients are already undergoing medical treatment anyway. Please find below general advice:
- try to follow an animal protein-free diet
- strictly avoid animal dairy products
- drastically reduce your sugar consumption
- drink a lot of pure water (about 2 liters per day)
- do not drink any sweet drinks or “light” drinks.
These almost all contain very problematic sweeteners and flavorings or additives. - do not smoke or already try to reduce your nicotine consumption
The latter recommendations of our doctors will go further and might also include natural remedies. An individual recommendation is of course only possible when we know you personally.
The health questionnaire helps us understand your individual health situation before the appointment and ensures that your consultation is conducted responsibly and safely.
As personal medical information is discussed during online appointments, we require a completed questionnaire for all patients — including online consultations. This also serves to protect you as a patient.
In addition, we are legally obliged to have a completed and signed health questionnaire on file for every patient before providing medical advice.
During the initial consultation, your doctor will take a detailed medical history to understand your medical history and current symptoms. A baseline exam with labs will be performed to assess your health and physical condition.

For your protection and for legal reasons, we are required to have a completed and signed health questionnaire from every patient. This allows us to assess your situation responsibly and provide appropriate medical guidance.
To arrange an appointment, we first need some basic information about your health situation.
Please complete and submit the health questionnaire. Once we have received and reviewed it, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.
The coverage of costs by each health insurance company is regulated individually, as our treatments are mostly billed through supplementary insurance. Swiss insurance companies cover only a small part or no cost of the treatments.
From experience, foreign health insurance companies do not cover the cost of treatment. However, there are a few exceptions. We recommend that you contact your insurance company before your visit to determine if you have cost coverage. It is also important to clarify whether you will be reimbursed for a part of the costs, if any, by your health insurance company, as a deposit is required.

Yes, all floors in both the BioMed Center Sonnenberg and the Sonnenberg Health Hotel are accessible by lift, and the buildings are wheelchair accessible.
Please note that there is no 24-hour assistance or continuous medical support available at the hotel. If you require ongoing assistance, we recommend arranging this in advance.
You are welcome to discuss any specific needs with us in person upon arrival.
We are happy to book a shuttle service for you for your arrival. Please inform us if needed.
The Sonnenberg Health Hotel is located in the same building. Guest rooms are directly accessible by elevator.
Please note that the hotel does not provide 24-hour nursing care or continuous medical supervision.
