Clinical Forms and Contributing Factors
Two primary forms are distinguished. The dry (degenerative) form is more common and develops gradually over time. The wet form occurs less frequently but may progress more rapidly and is associated with abnormal vascular changes and fluid accumulation in the retina.
Chronic inflammation, circulatory disturbances, metabolic imbalance, toxic exposure, elevated blood sugar levels, and micronutrient deficiencies may influence retinal health. Identifying these contributing factors is essential for a comprehensive therapeutic strategy.

A Cause-Oriented Biological Program

Macular degeneration is an often rapidly progressing eye disease that can lead to blindness. It is considered partly an autoimmune condition, but primarily a degenerative disease.
A distinction is made between the rarer “wet” forms of macular degeneration, which involve inflammatory swelling, and “dry” (degenerative) macular degeneration, which occurs approximately four to five times more frequently.
Dry macular degeneration primarily affects older individuals.
Within the necessary long-term program, a biological evaluation of underlying causes is carried out first. This is followed by an intensive initial phase of therapy aimed at slowing disease progression
